As with all heating appliances, your gas boiler needs to be serviced once a year, as recommended by the manufacturers, to ensure that it is operating efficiently and safely. An efficient boiler is more environmental friendly leading to lower gas consumption, therefore lowering your bills.

The safety aspect is even more critical as a regularly serviced boiler will operate safely i.e. the gas will burn correctly, reducing the risk of emmissions of poisonous Carbon Monoxide and / or production of sooth.

 What's involved in a boiler service, what are the 22 checks and tests? And the extra Mile

Our Service Engineer will complete 22 detailed checks and tests when carrying out a boiler service. All Visual Checks and Tests Applied are in accordance with Irish Standards 813:2002 as laid down by the National Standards Authority of Ireland for Domestic Gas Installations. The following checks and tests will be carried out:

Boiler Checks

·         Check Gas Isolating Valves

·         Cold Check Efficiency of Flue

·         Test Effectiveness  of Functionality of flue with Boiler Running

·         Check Location of Flue

·         Check Condition of Flue

·         Check Permitted Location of Appliance

·         Check Size of Open Vented Flue

·         Check Ventilation According to Appliance

·         Perform Co Room Test As Necessary Depending on Appliance

·         Check Terminal Location

·         Check Cowl Fitted

·         Check Main Burner

·         Check Burner Pressure And adjust accordingly

·         Clean Main Burner

·         Clean Pilot Burner

·         Clean Heat Exchanger

·         Check Joints on Boiler

·         Check Case Seals on boiler

·         Issue a print out on completion with Co,Co2 ,and efficiency of boiler at time of service

·         Test Gas Soundness of Appliance

·         All findings recorded on our computer for our return service so we can tell if your appliance needs extra care

Electrical Checks

·         Check 3 Amp Fuse Fitted

·         Check Double Pole Isolation Switch Fitted

All above are will be carried out in accordance with Irish Standards 813:2002 as laid down by the National Standards Authority of Ireland for Domestic Gas Installations.
